Robert Wilkin
Sir, —I understand that the Canterbury A. and P. Society was formed in 1863 and that Robert Wilkin was the first president. Could you confirm this as we want to collect all the information we can on Wilkin? Wilkin was the first settler in the upper Clutha
Valley and the Wilkin River was named after him, as was Mount Wilkin. The Aspiring National Park Board has just completed the construction of its park headquarters, and wishes to find out al! it can of early history of the original settlers of this area. Any assistance readers could give me would be much appreciated.—Yours, etc, JOHN S. HUNT. Wilkin Place, Cromwell, March 8, 1972.
