Supreme Court MAN FOUND GUILTY

Possessed LSD for sale

Colin Rodney Lee, aged 23, manager of a pop group, was found guilty by a jury in the Supreme Court yesterday on a charge of possessing LSD for sale at Christchurch on February 8.

Mr Justice Wilson remanded Lee to March 10 for sentence.

Lee, represented by Mr A. IK. Grant, pleaded not guilty. Mr N. W. Williamson appeared for the Crown, i The jury took two hours 'to reach its verdict.

CHARGE OF RAPE

The trial of Russell George Becks, aged 23, a freezing worker, on a charge of rape at Kaiapoi on December 16, began in the Supreme Court yesterday before Mr Justice Wilson and a jury. Messrs N. W. Williamson and P. J. Mackay appear for the Crown and Messrs P. J. Boyle and E. W. Gartrell for the accused.

The Crown alleges that the accused raped a woman in the front seat of his car after he had parked it in a quiet spot in Murphy Park. The trial is expected to end today.
