Fire caused slight damage to two wooden garages and a car at 1280 and 1282 Main North Road about 3 p.m. on Tuesday. The fire spread to the two buildings from a macrocarpa hedge. About 30ft of hedge was destroyed. Engines from the St Albans and Central Fire Stations and a North Canterbury Catchment Board pump attended. One jet and one hose reel were used on the blaze.
