THE 6300-TON UNIT LOAD SHIP ZAIDA, which will call at Lyttelton on her maiden voyage later this month to load frozen meat for Japan. The ship, fitted with special cargo-handling equipment, will be used on the New Zealand-Japan service. The Zaida can carry up to 50 containers on deck and is expected to assist in the development of the chilled-beef trade to Japan. The service will be run by the Ciusader Shipping Company, Ltd, with P. and O. (N.Z.), Ltd, as managing agents.
