RANGATIRA DEAD

Rangatira. a four-yea--old gelding by Thurber Frost from Arania. collapsed and died with less than three furlongs to run tn the Au Revoir Handicap. Shortly before he had locked sulky wheels with Fantastic and dropped quickly back through the field.

Raced by Mr R. A. McKenzie, of Wellington, Rangatira was trained at Yaldhurst by G. B. Noble. A lightly-raced pacer, he won three races. He had not been successful this season, but had recorded several platings.
