JACKPOT NOT WON
The jackpot rose by $16,627.50 to $29,513 at the New Brighton meeting on Saturday, but it was not won. Although there were no long-shot winners, no favourites were successful in the first four jackpot races. No live tickets were left when Rauka Lad won the New Brighton Cup. The jackpot will go on to the Metropolitan club’s meeting on March 18.
A crowd of 9400 invested $232,854. Last year the club raced in daytime on Easter Saturday. on-course receipts being 8266,011. Off-course investments on Saturday were $305,635.5'), a big jump on the 8138,949 on Easter Saturday.
