INDUSTRIAL TALKS

Another arbiter suggested

(N.Z. Press Association; WELLINGTON, Feb. 10. The Federation of Labour national executive and the Employers’ Federation are discussing replacement of the Remuneration Authority with another arbitration body, according to an F.O.L. executive officer. Mr F. Thom said yesterday in the Court of Arbitration: “Talks are taking place between the parties as to who and what is to be the final arbiter of the workers’ standard of living. "Nothing will be decided until the annual conference of the F.0.L., which opens on May 2. This body and this body alone, will make the decision in as far as the unions are concerned.”

He was speaking during hearing of the laundry workers* dispute.
