Tattooing discouraged

The Royal Australian Navy is emphasising to its sailors the dangers of tattooing, and its officers have been instructed to discourage the practice.
Attention is being drawn at health lectures to the possibility of the transmission of homologous serum jaundice, syphilis and other infections by unsterile tattooing needles. A recent survey at one naval esablishment showed that of those men with tattoos 90 per cent regretted having them, •
