Chch youths charged
(From Our Own Reporter) WESTPORT, Dec. 28. Three Christchurch youths, charged in the Magistrate's Court at Westport yesterday before Mr J. Dellaca, J.P., with being found unlawfully on premises, bat without intent to commit other crime, in Gladstone Street, Westport, the previous night were released on bail and remanded to appear in the Magistrate’s Court at Christchurch on January 7. They are Douglas S. Gardner, aged 17, a french polisher; Gary Harper, aged 21, a french polisher; and Vincent E. Kerwan, aged 17, an apprentice panelbeater, They did not enter pleas.
Two others who faced similar charges were remanded to appear in the Children’s Court at Christchurch on January 5. Sergeant J. D. Walker said that there was nothing sinister about the offences.
