JORDAN’S POLICY
(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) AMMAN, December 28.
The Jordanian Prime Minister (Mr Al-Lawzi) has reiterated his country’s policy that the Palestinian guerrilla action against Israel should be confined to occupied territories.
Mr Al-Lawzi, successor to Mr Wasfi Tell, who was assassinated in Cairo on November 28, was presenting his Government’s policy statement yesterday to Parliament. He said that Jordan supported only "honest resistance” aimed at the Israeli occupying forces and not those commandos who threatened the security of the people and Jordan’s stability. Mr Al-Lawzi said that his Government was ready for renewed inter-Arab co-opera-tion, and he added: “We in this country have never lingered behind in any joint Arab effort, in war or in peace and we have always committed ourselves to Arab convenI tions.”
Observers said that the Prime Minister was apparently calling for a realignment of Arab ranks.
