Bus concession cards
Sir, —“P. E. Granite” has a grievance if men do receive bus concession tickets at 65 when women receive them at 60; but if he is really sincere in asking “the women’s equality movement” to “put pressure on the Transport Board to alter the availability of bus concession cards” he certainly does not know the right way to go about asking when he suggests that “Women’s Lib commit suicide to help bring the death statistics of the sexes into a position of equality.” May we suggest that the sooner “P. E. Granite” takes Women’s Liberation seriously and gives his support for equal pay for equal work (which incidentally costs New Zealand women hundreds of thousands of dollars a year) the sooner the Christchurch Women’s Liberation Movement will be able to support him and rectify his problem.—Yours, etc., FIVE CHRISTCHURCH WOMEN’S LIBERATION MEMBERS. December 28, 1971.
