Ewington) is spending the Christmas-New Year period with the Australian team at a training camp in Les Deux Aples, France. They are training under the guidance of a French coach, Mr R. Tessa.

Most leading, European skiers have been; undergoing intensive training.; Australia’s team for thej Winter Olympics, at Sapparo, Japan, early in 1972, is M. Milne, one of the top downhill racers in the world, and S. Clifford. The Australian junior team is also attending the camp. SLALOM TRAINING
Earlier this month, the New Zealanders were at the Sestriere World Cup meeting in Italy. A. downhill event was cancelled because of the poor state of the course and only the slalom was held, which allowed Womersley and Ewington to get some muchneeded slalom training. The slalom was won by T. Palmer (United States) with J. N. Augert (France) second, and H. Rofner (Austria) third. Ewington started ninety-sixth and finished forty-sixth on a steep and very icy course. Womersley was disqualified after missing a gate on the second run.
