Skim milk powder

Sir, —“Ignoramus” suggests that as the price for dairy products is rising overseas the New Zealand consumer Should have these items at a . cheaper price. I take it that when (if) prices for dairy products .decrease overseas, “Ignoramus” would gladly pay high prices to help us along. I may add that the dairy farmer has had depressed prices for the last 10 years—and the New Zealand consumer has had the cheapest dairy foods in the world. This, at the dairy farmers’ expense, apart from providing overseas funds as well. I would advise “Ignoramus” to check with the Tai Tapu Central Dairy Company on prices paid out to the dairy farmers over this period. Perhaps he might spare a kind thought for the dairy fanner who toils for him, without grizzling, striking dr costing the country money—a very rare person in New Zealand today—Yours, etc., FARMER’S WIFE.
