Mr I. A. Baxter, of Christchurch, has been re-elected chairman of the Potato Board, the secretary of the board (Mr M. J. McHugh) said in Wellington.

Mr L. H. Russell, Commissioner of Crown Lands at Blenheim since 1968, will become Commissioner at Nelson on the retirement of Mr E. N. Voting. Mr Russell will be succeeded at Blenheim by Mr G. McMillan, assistant director of national parks and reserves at head office, Wellington. Sir James Wattie has retired from’ the Trade Promotion Council. The chairman of the- council (the Minister of Overseas; Trade, Mr Marshall)' said that Sir James Wattie was a member of the council when it was established in 1962. “He made a valuable contribution, based

on his own wide experience, to the development of the export drive,” said Mr Marshall.—(P.A.)
