Tech. Institute post

A new head of the department of applied sciences at the Christchurch Technical Institute, Mr B. Frost, has been appointed to succeed Mr J. D. A. Hercus, who recently took up the post of deputy principal of the institute. Mr Frost was formerly senior tutor in applied sciences at the institute. Mr Frost was bom in Christchurch and educated at St Andrew’s College and the University of Canterbury, where he graduated B.A- and B.Sc. In 1955, he was a student at the Christchurch Teachers’ College before taking up a teaching post at the former Christchurch Technical Cob lege: After a period in 1960 teaching at the Hawarden District High School, Mr Frost returned to the technical college, where he remained during the time the college became the Technical Institute and since. Mr Frost served for four years as chairman of the Christchurch branch of the Association of Teachers, in Technical Institutes, and for five years was a member of the association’s national executive.
