WELLINGTON, Dec. 22. Increases of almost 13 per cent on January 1, 1971, base rates are contained in the New Zealand cleaners, caretakers, lift attendants and watchmen’s award. The new minimum rates range from $52.60 a week for caretakers in charge of five or more other workers, a $5.84 a week rise, down to $33.20 (a rise of $3.85) for female cleaners. For watchmen and security officers, the new rate is $48.80 a week, a rise of $5.54. The award applies for wages from November 8, for service payments from November 29, and expires on November 29, 1972.
