QUINNEY’S BUSH

Donations made reach $7217 Donations made at the Quinney’s Bush camping area, 34 miles from Nelson, since April, total $5OO. The total donations made to various good causes nominated by the owner of the property, Mr R. Quinney, over a nineyear period, are $7217. This year the donations have been for the Motupiko parish car replacement fund, but having reached $5OO, they will now go to the Andes Evangelical Mission, except that donations received on Christmas Day and Boxing Day will be given to the National Council of Churches Christmas appeal for Pakistani refugee relief. In a letter to “The Press,” Mr Quinney says the ninth "flying fox”—another fivechain one—has been added to the amusements at the camping area.

“There are no age limits on Quinney’s Bush amusements. but would those over seven stone refrain from bouncing on the long 'flying foxes.’ Rope tautness is designed to allow light children to get off unaided, but a heavy rider barely clears the ground and stubbed toes could result from bouncing,” Mr Quinney says.

The bag riders are available, weather permitting, on the afternoons .or special holidays and for campers in the evenings, except Sundays. Mr Quinney has thanked the public for their appreciation of the area, and for their donations.
