Findings on tests Large amounts of milk may give some protection to people drinking on an otherwise empty stomach, but small quantities taken before alcohol are of little value, according to Mr E. D. Janus, of Christchurch Hospital’s pathology department This is his conclusion after Studying the results of tests conducted by the department last month, when volunteers drank whisky after half a pint of milk and then had their blood tested for alcohol levels.
