JOINT STUDY PROJECT

U.S.-British satellite up (N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) LOMPOC (California), Dec. 12. A British satellite was successfully put into orbit by the United States space agency yesterday, to study magnetic storms and other phenomena in the Earth’s upper atmosphere. All the signs are that it was a successful launch. The satellite, in a nearPolar, circular orbit about 340 miles above earth, was the fourth in a co-operative programme between N.A.S.A. and the British Science Research Council.
