Salvation Army posts
Ten Salvation Army appointments have been made to Christchurch offices. They become effective from January 24. Major V. F. Robertson is to be officer-in-charge of Christchurch Citadel. He replaces Major R. B. Knight in an exchange of posts. Captain R. Knight (Dunedin youth activities officer) will become youth secretary (Christchurch Citadel). He takes the place of Captain R. L. Smith, now youth activities officer in Auckland.
Brigadier L. Bringans (Napier) will replace Captain H. Buckingham (Sydenham) who is going to the Dunedin Fortress, and Captain I. Kilgour (Winton) will take the place of Captain P. J. Savage (Bishopdale) who is going to Porirua. Lieutenant-Colonel F. Hay (The Bridge, Wellington) will replace Brigadier G. E. Fitness (Addington Men’s Social Service Centre). Brigadier Fitness has been appointed to Epsom Lodge in Auckland.
Captains A. Bilham and A. E. Flintoff have also been appointed to the Addington centre.
Major V. Phillips (Sunshine Lodge) will go to Eltham. She willbe replaced by Captain J. Matheson (Masterton). Major D. Canty (Resthaven) will be replaced by Major H. Sutton who will be assisted by Captain E. Neilson from Bethany Hospital (Christchurch). Captain M. Gear (Wellington) has been appointed assistant matron at Bethany Hospital in Christchurch.
