Au pair to Australia
(N.Z. Ftmi Am-Copyright; LONDON, December 5. A British travel agency intends to attract German and Scandinavian au pair girls to work in Australia. The agency, the Far East Travel Centre, says it has already had enquiries from about 100 German girls who are interested in going to Australia as domestic help, ft recently announced cut-price air-sea fares to Australia at $250 single. Under the company’s scheme the girls pay their own way to Australia and after one year of service, their employers pay their return fare to Europe. Australian migration officials may give their blessing to the scheme—men still outnumber women in Australia.
