N.Z. MARKET RISES IN LESS ACTIVE TRADING

Price changes were more pronounced among both the rises and falls in less active trading on New Zealand stock exchanges yesterday. However, the index showed a good rise under the influence of useful gains by the majority of the leaders.

A number of second-line stocks performed well but the section was mixed and several sharp fails were also shown. On the face of it the tone of the market was firm but the willingness of sellers gave it a hollow tone.

e The lack of any change for, t the better, in fundamentals; 1 gives the rally a base of 3 nothing more substantial) than technical factors,; | optimism, and to a large s extent the recent Australian rally.
