Shield teams chosen
Canterbury Slazenger Shield and Howe Shield junior teams to play in the zonal preliminary tournament at Wilding'Park next Saturday have been selected as follows: Slazenger Shield (boys). P. Mitchell (Beckenham), A. James (Linwood Avenue), T. Mooney (Edgeware). Howe Shield (girls).—J. Phillips (Beckenham), A. Meates (Beckenham), C. Newton (Shirley). Under the new arrangements for these competitions, teams will play two singles and one doubles.
Play will be in the morning only because of the Benson and Hedges women’s tournament in the afternoon.
