PUBLIC NOTICES NORTH CANTERBURY ELECTRIC POWER BOARD ALTERATION OF ELECTRICITY CHARGES PURSUANT to Regulation 23 of the Electrical Supply Regulations, 1967, the North Canterbury Electric Power Board hereby gives public notice that the following amended tariffs will apply to all accounts rendered from meter readings taken on and after March 28, 1972, and that other special conditions of supply set out below will be operative from that date also:

1. DOMESTIC (including holiday cottages): (a) Fixed charge of 80 cents per month for each separate supply. (b) Rate: First 20 units per month at 3.5 cents per unit. Balance of units per month at 1.6 cents per unit. i2. WATER HEATING (Domestic, Dairy, and Commercial): CONTROLLED SPACE HEAT1 ING: All units at 0.9 cents per unit. (Water heaters must comply i with the Board’s standard, specifications, and be subject; to off-peak load control.) I 3. TWO-RATE HEATING (Domes-; Special two-rate heating available on a continuous basis for domestic installations with permanently connected heating load of 7i kW or greater. Rate: 0.9 cents per unit from 9 p.m.—7 a.m., and from 1 p.m.—4 p.m. Outside these two times, supply automatically transferred to the 1.6 cents per unit rate. 4. COMMERCIAL: (a) Fixed charge of 80 cents per month for each separate supply. (b) Rate: First 100 units per month at 5.5 cents per unit. Next 1000 units per month at 2.25 cents per unit. 16. IRRIGATION RATE: (a) Fixed charge of 80 cents ■ per month for each separate supply. (bl Rate: First 120 units per month at 3.5 cents per unit. Next 2000 units per month at 1.7 cents per unit. Balance of units per month at 1.1 cents per unit. 7. INDUSTRIAL POWER: (Installations exceeding 50 h.p. connected load.) Minimum charge: $6O per quarter for each separate supPower rate: (a) $7 per kVA per quarter plus -8 cents per unit. (Installations with a demand in excess of 750 kVA will have the option of remaining on two-part tariff, or having all power at 1.5 cents per unit during the two quarters October/December, and January/March.) Power rate: (b) 100 units per kVA per quarter at 5 cents per unit. Balance of units at 1.7 cents per unit. Light and heat if separately metered: 60 units per month at 5.5 cents per unit. Balance of units at 1.7 cents per unit. (NOTE: All installations with a maximum demand exceeding 200 kVA and/or consumption of 35,000 units per quarter wilt be placed on rate (a). 8. STREET LIGHTING: (a) Incandescent fittings: per quarter. (b) Fluorescent and mercury vapour fittings: $4.25 per quarter. (c) Sodium vapour fittings: $a per quarter. (d) An alternative charge for large areas of sodium vapour would be on the basis

of: I (1) 1.5 cents per unit. (2) $1 per quarter per fitting maintenance charge. (3) Cost of replacement of lamps. All street lighting charges will be rendered on a threemonthly basis. 9. LOCAL AUTHORITY WATER . PUMPING; „ nn (a) Fixed charge of 80 cents per month for each separate supply. (b) Rate: 100 units per quarter per connected h.p. at 3.5 cents per unit.
