Press Association) ’ WELLINGTON, Nov. 26. ’ The Southland - Otago ' Manapouri Action Group will ■ hold a protest rally in Inver--1 cargill on Monday evening to coincide with a Comalco dini ner celebrating the opening iof the smelter. 1 The national secretary of the Save Manapouri Cam- ' paign (Mr D. G. Kember) said the rally would not be an anti-Comalco demonstration.
It would tell the Government it had yet to honour its 0 prime responsibility to the 11 people of New Zealand. •- He said the announceo ment of a power station to! i- be built at Evans Bay with g a capacity sufficient to account for an eventual deci-, f sion not to raise Lake Manai- pouri was encouraging. But d the campaign could not yet n see any grounds for regarding the issue as won.
