835,049 to be spent on laboratories (From Our Own Reporter) WELLINGTON, Nov. 25. A tender has been accepted for the remodelling and upgrading of laboratories at Marlborough Boys’ College in Blenheim. This advice has been received by the member for Marlborough (Mr Brooks), from the Parliamentary Under-secretary to the Minister of Education (Mr Gair). Mr Gair said that the contract had been awarded to J. Waters and Sons, Ltd, whose price of 535.049.98 was the lowest of five tenders received. The project will consist of remodelling and upgrading three laboratories to modern standards, and providing 3 new preparation room. “The college has achieved a good reputation for the teaching of science subjects, and the Improved facilities will help to maintain this high standard/’ Mr Gair said.
