Christian scientist speaks on truth
People were often tricked by their misconceptions of life, a Christian Science lecturer said in Christchurch yesterday. But mankind need not be bound for ever by these mistakes. Mr Jules Cera, of Scarsdale, Naw York. said. Mr Cera was speaking in the First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Christchurch. His lecture was entitled “The Truth that Heals.” Referring to God as Spirit, Mr Cam said that right where a physical sky and material earth were believed to be right there and everywhere, infinite divine spirit existed exclusively. This spiritual insight into the alb ness of Spirit and man’s
spiritual Identity healed all kinds of human problems, especially sickness ano human relations difficulties.
Mr Cera likened mental misconceptions to a type of theatrical screen called serim. It hid what was behind it only until I'-'-t was applied. “The the t that matter exists is o mental scrim. It seems to i> foe true view of existence until foe light of truth is applied to our thought. "Then wo are able to see through foe mental scrim of material thought, and its star perfonners. material objects and physical bodies, and their supporting cast of sin, discord, disease, and death.” Mr cem reminded his audience that when they observed the fishbowl of the world and it seemed to be filled with fighting mortals, they could flood the darkness of this mental scrim with the light of God's aliness. “We can rest assured that we are not Ignoring what seem to be individual or universal problems, We are simply applying the allpowerful light of truth, it la fully capable of dispelling the darkness of every false belief about God, man and the universe,” he said,
