Bomber for museum

(N.Z. Press Association) NELSON. Sept. 9. A World War II bomber headed towards Port Nelson this afternoon—by road. The bomber, a Ventura, was loaded on to a road transporter at the Appleby farm of Mr J. D. Russ, and carried 15 miles to the port to be loaded on board a coastal ship for Auckland. The bomber has been acquired from Mr Russ by the Aviation Division of the Museum of Transport and Technology; Mr Russ bought the aircraft after the war for spare parts and for farm equipment.
