Elimination heats

Lavana returned a good performance to win a heat of the elimination trials at Addington yesterday for the maiden event at the New Brighton Trotting Club’s meeting on September 18. After being well back to the half mile, .M. Holmes moved Lavana up sharply to lead inside the half mile and they were not seriously challenged after. Five heats were held, with the first three place-getters and the fastest fourth to make up the field. Should there be any withdrawals other fourth place-get-ters will be added to the field.

Place-getters were. — First: Johnny’s Pal, Lavana, Excellence, Henry Dee, Philipino. Second: Real Garrison, Heather Royal. Proud Polka, Master Armbro, Robin’s Sister. Third: In Disguise, Some Dream, Bonny Helen, Gilderoy, Exchequer. Fourth: Mary Sirrah (fastest), John Haig, Bluegum, Rose Chase, Sherwood Em.
