Clear Prince to resume
(N.Z. Press Association) MELBOURNE The four-year-old, Clear Prince, a close third in the Melbourne Cup last year, will have his first race since the big two-miler in the $7OOO Craiglee Stakes (weight-for-age, Im.) at Flemington tomorrow. Clear Prince, which is out of the Le Filou mare, Clearaway, has been heavily backed for the 1971 cup, but his Adelaide trainer, C. Hayes, warned this week that Clear Prince was a “day to day proposition.” The field also includes the New Zealand “iron horse,” Ahjay, which apparently thrives bn racing. He has been engaged almost every Saturday since arriving in Melbourne, and last week-end was third in the Memsie Stakes.
