School hall tender

WELLINGTON, Sept. 7.

The Nelson Education Board has been authorised to accept a tender for the erection of a new assembly hall at Takaka to serve the form I to VII school which will be established as from February, 1972, and which is to be known as Golden Bay High School. The contract ..will be awarded to B. R. Malcolm, Ltd, whose price of $86,413 was the lowest of the three tenders received.

This information was given to the member of Parliament for Buller (Mr W. E. Rowling) by Mr G. F. Gair, Parliamentary Under-Secretary to the Minister of Education.

The assembly hall is to a standard plan, prepared especially for use at smaller secondary schools, such as the proposed school at Takaka.
