Firmer tone in late trading
Share prices were generally easier in dull trading on New Zealand stock exchanges yesterday. However, in the afternoon, a firmer tone appeared to be developing and sellers werfe harder to find.
Most of the price changes were downward, but a few of the leaders continued to improve cautiously. A. B. Consolidated at 46c and Fletcher at 173 c were 5c higher, Wattie new gained 2c to 120 c, and South British improved 5c to 540 c. Leyland Investments stood out with a 17c jump to 125 c after a long, dormant period. Broadlands was a cent lower at 92c after adjustment for the rights to the one-for-four premium issue the rights have a theoretical value of 28c.
