nearer (From Our Own Reporter) WELLINGTON, Sept. 3. Notification has been received from the GovernorGeneral that the Crown has waived its rights as they affect the Christchurch City (Reserves) Empowering Bill (No. 2). This means that this measure, which would give the Christchurch City Council the right to proceed with its plans involving the rerouting of the Hagley Park motorway, is another laboured step towards legislation. Since its stormy passage through the hands of the Local Bills Committee, and its equally stormy return to Parliament, the measure has been before the Lands and Agriculture Committee. Now that a clearance from the Crown has been received; the bill may soon be brought back to Parliament for completition of the remaining stages.
