Police seek witnesses

The police are seeking witnesses to an accident in which a man died and four other persons were injured in Christchurch about 11.55 on Thursday night The accident, in which two cars collided, occurred at the intersection of Wainoni and Breezes Roads. The dead man was Ronald Robert Wright, aged 58, of 14 Sandy Avenue, New Brighton. - Mr Wright was alone in his car.

Four persons in the other car were injured and admitted to Christchurch-Hospital. Two others in the car were not hurt.

The driver, Barry James Lindbom, aged 21, of 53 Nelson Quay, Greymouth, suffered head and internal injuries in the accident. He was reported to be in g fair condition last evening.

Judith Florence Anne Pattinson, aged 16, of 12 Wainui Street, Dobson, near Greymouth, who suffered head injuries, and Julie Patricia Smith, aged 17, of Taylorville, near Greymouth, who suffered chest and leg injuries,' were both in a satisfactory condition. Alan Michael Prendergast, of 42 Devon Street, Sydenham, who suffered head injuries, was discharged from hospital yesterday.
