Parliament’s diary
The Minister of Finance (Mr Muldoon) gave notice in Parliament yesterday of special taxation provisions for property syndicates.
The Customs Amendment Bill received a pro forma second reading and was referred to the Commerce Committee. The Harbours Amendment Bill was introduced, and then was passed through all stages. Mr I. J. Brooks (Lab., Marlborough) gave notice of his intention to introduce the Spring-Jaw Animal Traps Bill.
Ministers answered 12 questions. The Local Authorities (Local Interests) Amendment Bill and a Hastings measure were reported back from the relevant committee.
The House proceeded with discusion of legislation.
