Attendance at fair

Soon after the New Zealand Industries Fair opens today, 125,000 persons will have attended.

When the fair closed last evening, 124,808 persons had attended, only 1574 below the record for a comparable period at a previous fair. “When the fair closes on Saturday evening, we are confident the attendance will be close to the present record of 150,000,” said the director of the Canterbury Manufacturers’ Association (Mr I. D. Howell) last evening. Yesterday, 11,639 persons attended, compared with 11,477 on the same day last year.
