JAPANESE WORKERS
Proposal for Australia
(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter —Copyright) TOKYO, August 30. A Japanese government official in a just-published book proposes that Australia set a quota for the entry of Japanese skilled workers to develop her steel and other big industries. Mr Naohiro Amaya, chief of the heavy industry section of the Ministry of International Trade and Industry, who spent several years in Australia, made the proposal in the book called "Prospects for Asian and Pacific Cooperation.” The book contains six articles by different authors. Mr Amaya said that Australia and New Zealand needed manpower, especially skilled workers.
“They consider it like inviting a horse to Troy to accept non-whites. Or they just don’t like non-whites. “I don’t blame the White Australian policy as a principle since every nation by and large has racial discrimination. Almost every nation makes some restrictions in the order of commodities, capital and men,” he said.
