No Cabinet reshuffle

(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, July 22. The Prime Minister (Sir Keith Holyoake) said today he had no present plans for retirement, or for changes jn the Cabinet. Asked about speculation that he might retire, Sir Keith Holyoake said there was a discussion in this morning’s Government caucus meeting on the future of the Cabinet and on the leadership. No decision was recorded.

“There was no thought in the caucus whatever of a change of leadership,” the Prime Minister said. Asked about a Cabinet reshuffle, he said that was up to the leader: he had no present plans for a change of the Cabinet. There was no need for a vote of confidence, he said, in answer to another question.
