TENNIS WIN AND LOSS
New Zealanders had a win and a loss in their opening matches in American tennis tournaments yesterday, according to Press Association reports.
The Davis Cup player, O. Parun, beat D. Dell (United States), 6-4, 6-2, in the Tanglewood tournament in South Carolina, but B. E. Fairlie lost, 4-6, 6-1, 3-6, to R. Lutz (United States) in the Kentucky professional tournament at Louisville.
