Aust, wool subsidy
(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) CANBERRA, July 22.
The Australian Cabinet today approved a wool-subsidy scheme guaranteeing graziers a fixed price for their wool. Reliable sources say that the guaranteed price for the financial year from July 1, 1971, to June 20, 1972, will be 35c or 36c per lb—about 6c above the present wool price, but 4c or 5c less than the figure sought by the Country Party. Details of the scheme are not expected to be released until the Budget on August 17.
