GIRL FALLS DOWN CLIFF

(N.Z, Press Association) WELLINGTON, July 19. A 12-year-old girl escaped serious injury when she fell 80 feet down a cliff at Titahi Bay, Wellington, on Sunday afternoon. Karen Stretch, of Titahi Bay, was being examined in Wellington Hospital this evening. It is understood her condition is not serious. She suffered bruising, cuts and shock. A Porirua Free Ambulance officer, Mr C. Ward, was the first to arrive at the top of the cliff. “The face was almost vertical. The girl had bumped and rolled all the way down and had landed on some rocks near the beach,” Mr Ward said.
