Ringing the changes

LONDON. Many women go for a hair colour change these days, but they do not look as well groomed as they should with their new colour because they do not alter their make-up and fashion colours too. I am not advocating an entire new wardrobe and beauty box, but I am advocating caution. If you were raven, you will not look good in emerald or scarlet as you did when you are brunette. If you were brown, different lipsticks and eyeshadows will suit you when you are platinum.
The only way to see what suits you is to start from scratch. If you want a new sweater, do not just buy a pink one because you were blonde, try a dark green or a red one when you are brunette.
Here is some advice on make-up schemes. You will usually need a more pinky-
beige foundation if you are going, black from brunette. Coral cheektint and lipstick is useful and wanning, and eyebrows will need black pencil. If you are going brown, try for peach foundation, jade or sapphire eye shadow, or cream and hazel if your eyes are brown. Going red? Then choose a pearly foundation, and add brown eye pencil freckles. Steer clear of pink or mauve, and try coral cheek-tint and lipstick. If you are going honey blonde, use a golden-beige foundation, pale blue eyeshadow, grey mascara, rose cheek-blusher, pink lipstick. Platinum blondes need olive make-up or a blend of tan if you can take it; too pale a foundation with that hair looks washed-out. If you are going grey, naturally or otherwise, try pearly or pink foundation, pink cheek-tint, grey mascara and pale blue or mauve eyeshadow.
