‘Angry’ at jibes
(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) LONDON.
The Lions Rugby team is angered at “pansies” jibes, the “Daily Mail” reported yesterday. Its staff reporter in Napier said the team was angry at the dirty play on the field in its game against Hawke’s Bay—which it won 25-6—and also by spectators who called them “soft Poms" and “longhaired pansies.” The “Daily Mail” said that many of the spectators had resented the ease with which the Lions whipped their- local heroes.
