More tennis players

(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON. Tennis in New Zealand reached an all-tima high last year, according to the latest figures released, by the New Zealand Lawn Tennis Association.

The membership returns for the 1970-71 season issued yesterday by the management committee of the N.Z.L.T.A. showed an increase of almost 2000 players over the previous year.

According to the latest figures there are 49,375 affiliated tennis players in New Zealand—an increase of almost 40 per cent on the number of registered players 10 years ago.
