N.Z. nude on poster

A nude Christchurch girl will soon begin urging the Japanese to change their “dull habits” and eat New Zealand lamb. The girt, a sft Tin, tanned, longhalred brunette, and naked Except .for a Stetson hat, will be featured on posters distributed, throughout the Tokyo-Osaka area as part of a new lamb-promotion campaign. The girl consented to poSe naked for the picture on condition that the poster was hot displayed in New Zealand, and that her name should not be disclosed. The .poster was .designed and printed in Christchurch. The poster carries a fulllength, back-view photograph of the girl, kneeling and looking around. Black lines are marked bn her body and individual, areas are named as “cuts” of meat.
■ The “Cuts” The “cuts” range from shoulder .and shank (upper ami) to rack, loin and chump (around the hips) to leg, shank (thigh) and soup bone (lower leg). The caption reads: "Change your dull habits—eat New Zealand lamb.”
The poster bears the trademark of the New Zealand Japan lamb group, a new grouping of nine meat companies which sells almost half New Zealand’s lamb production. The group was formed to concentrate on the Japanese market. The first samples of the poster were brought to Tokyo this week by Mr C. S. Stevens, the governing director of C. S, Stevens and Company, Ltd, of Christchurch, the group’s New Zealand agents.
