Stocks in all sections mixed in Australia

Shares in all sections were mixed, in dull trading, on Australian Stock exchanges yesterday. Woodside firmed after a quiet start. It closed 24c higher at 129 c after peaking at 138 c. The 30c paid shares peaked at 88c, and closed 12c higher at 75c. Magellan firmed 10c to 195 c. A.A.O. dropped 5c to 155 c; Bounty, Beach, and Ampol Ex. were also easier. Bougainville fell 5c to 325 c, and Gt Boulder eased the same amount to 215 c. Peko was weak, and shed 30c to 950 c while Poseidon, W.M.C., and Kathleen Investments also eased

In the speculative section, Spargo’s firmed 10c to 210 c. Mareeba rose 2c to 90c, and Binti put on 10c to 75c. Carr Boyd, and Westralian Nickel were marginally lower. Among the industrials Philip Morris and Parbury rose 10c each. Ampol and Sleigh dropped 1c each. C.S.R. fell 12c to 548 c, and Woolworths, Coles, Thiess, and Tooths also eased.
