Seminar on Maoris
A seminar on the social problems associated with the Maori drift to the city, will be held by the University Maori Club next week-end at the Te Rangimarie Centre, Gloucester Street. Topics to be discussed include the Maori in crime, the city marae, employment, education, housing, and the Maori family in the city. The guest speakers include: Mr H. Taumaunu, lecturer in Maori it the Christchurch Secondary Teachers’ College; Dr R. Moore, a psychiatrist; Dr R. walker, of the-Depart-ment. of Extension Studies, Auckland; and Chief Inspector’ R. Burrowes, of the Christchurch Police. ”
