Defeat for George

(N.Z. Press Assn. —Copyright) MELBOURNE. The South African champion, A. Taylor, has scored a decisive points win against T. George, of New Zealand, a British Commonwealth feather-weight titleholder, in a 10-round bout in Melbourne.

Taylor, winner of his country’s bantam and featherweight championship titles, continued his undefeated run in Australia. In his two previous bouts in the country he outpointed the Filipino feather-weight, W. Cordova. Taylor, dazzled the New Zealander with boxing speed and skill. The “sprint” twominute rounds suited the speedy South African as George relies mainly on his stamina, strength and punching power. Taylor overcame George with his punching speed and variety, particularly his right hand upper cut, which repeatedly jarred the aggressive New Zealander.
