Thefts of property

Property worth more than $4OO was taken from Christchurch business premises at the week-end, detectives reported yesterday. Electric welding equipment, valued at $4OO, was removed when thieves broke into the premises of C. R. Hawkins, Ltd, Maces Road, Bromley, and $lO in cash was taken from the premises of Madras Joinery Service, Ltd, at 514 Cranford Street, Papanui. Thieves also stole $l5 from the premises of Winwood Screws and Fasteners, Ltd, in Tuam Street. All the thefts occurred some time between Friday night and yesterday moming.
