Top shooting event won by T. A. Everett
T. A. Everett (Belfast) won the single rise title, the premier event in the Rothmans Canter, bury provincial trap shooting championships, at the Belfast club’s range. The single rise event attracted 75 entries, of which 10 gained possibles. Everett finally took the title from B. Hussey (Timaru) after 25 targets had been broken In a shoot-off.
Fifteen shooters shot the possible of 20 targets In the Rothmans Trophy match. The shootoff was dominated by T. Everett Jun,, and G. Searle, two young and highly promising Belfast club shooters. Thirty-seven targets were shot before Everett emerged as the winner. The newly Introduced teams* match between North and South Canterbury districts for the Shand Trophy resulted ta a win for North Canterbury by 018 points to 913. Results were:— Skeet.—J.
